Enhancing Design
Floor-Through-Door Sill:
The 4070-T Patent Pending sill design has been engineered for the 4400 Wood, making the home’s finished floor the door sill, leaving ONLY a slim slot drain. This feature is gorgeous and provides additional weather protection.
Upper Floor Capable:
When the hydraulic In-Rail Closer is chosen, the Series 4400 Wood is feasible for upper floors, which historically has not been possible due to limited door depth. The pivot anchor only requires 1-¾” floor penetration.
Adjustable Closer:
The hydraulic In-Rail Closer allows 3 custom operation adjustments:
- Open 90 Degrees Speed (slows down at 80-degree point)
- Final 30 Degrees Speed
- Final 10 Degrees Latching Speed
The three options are easily accessed from the underside of the bottom rail without removing the panel.
The “Little” Things
Residential Design:
In the pivot door world, only the 4400 Wood was designed for elite luxury residential applications. Competing products offer modified commercial doors or panels with glued on finishes that pale when comparing fit & finish.
Hidden Weather-Stripping:
During design, apt attention was given to hiding the needed weather-stripping as much as possible. The intention was for customers to only see finishes and hardware while in a closed position.

PROPRIETARY HARDWARE
Archetype Floor Pivot (AFP)
The AFP is made of marine grade stainless steel and has two components. The solid base measures 3-5/16” x 4” x 7/8” and attaches to the slab structure with four 3-1/4” concrete screws. The top section is 7/16″ thick and is bolted to the base with four 1/4” x 1/2” stainless machine screws that allow ample adjustment before securing. Once the finished floor is completed, the lower portion is completely hidden inside the panel bottom rail.
Archetype Head Pivot (AHP)
The Series 4400 Wood top pivot was designed and is manufactured by Fleetwood. Conventional head pivots use common steel and lack features expected in the luxury home arena. The Archetype Head Pivot (AHP) offers these features:
- Constructed of 300 Series stainless steel (ideal combination of strength and corrosion resistance).
- Stealthy design and the limited exposed stainless has a brushed finish to complement locking hardware.
- The strongest pivot pin and adjustment arm for superior durability and ease of adjustment.
- Extended length pin for greater security and wind load strength.
